David Fletcher Progressing In Recovery From Hip Injury
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman David Fletcher (hip) advanced to hitting on the field Tuesday. He underwent surgery to fix both his right and left adductor muscles on May 10. The 28-year-old is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list in a few weeks. He was hitting just .158/.220/.263 with no homers and two RBI in his first 38 at-bats of the season. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Fletcher in deep-league formats after the veteran infielder stole 15 bags in 2021. Luis Rengifo will continue to handle second base duties while Fletcher is sidelined. Rengifo is slashing .236/.287/.364 with three homers, nine RBI, 13 runs scored, and a stolen base across 151 plate appearances.
