4 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder David Fletcher (ankle) will not return to the mix Friday versus the Rockies, with Luis Rengifo and Andrelton Simmons holding down the middle infield spots versus right-hander German Marquez. Angels manager Joe Maddon stated that Fletcher could return to the starting nine as soon as Friday after he last appeared Aug. 30. Despite his absence in the series opener, it’s clear that Fletcher’s return is imminent and he’s likely worthy of a season-long roster spot upon his activation in rotisserie formats or medium-sized-or-larger traditional scoring leagues.--Jesse Borek
