David Freese Homers in First Start of Season
7 years agoThird baseman David Freese went 2-for-4 and homered in the second game of the Pittsburgh Pirates' doubleheader versus the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. It was the first start of the season for the 34-year-old, who is now the backup to Colin Moran at third base. Freese should get two or three starts a week between the hot corner and first base, but he's not a fantasy option at this point. As an owner of a career .302/.380/.464 slash line against left-handers, however, he does provide some value in daily leagues when he's in the lineup against southpaws.
