7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander David Hernandez (shoulder) is getting close to going on a rehab assignment. Hernandez has been sidelined since spring training with inflammation in his pitching shoulder. He threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday and will meet up with Triple-A Louisville on Friday if there are no issues with his shoulder. The veteran reliever has been a solid bullpen option over the past few seasons and would surely solidify a Cincinnati bullpen that has the fourth-highest ERA in the league this season. Hernandez has posted two straight seasons with a sub-4.00 ERA and has 132 strikeouts in 127 2/3 innings of work over that span.--Matt T - RotoBaller
