David Hess Earns Quality Start, Loss on Wednesday
7 years agoDespite allowing only one run to the Nationals, Baltimore Orioles starter David Hess was tagged with the loss on Wednesday night. Hess allowed the lone run on four hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work. While he hasn't been striking out many batters (12.6 percent strikeout rate over four starts), Hess has now seen his ERA drop from 6.75 to 3.47 over his last two starts. There doesn't seem to be much fantasy value at the moment with Hess, especially pitching for a last-place team in one of, if not the toughest division in baseball. Owners in AL-only leagues might want to keep an eye on Hess going forward, seeing as he owns a respectable 7.3 K/9 over five seasons in the minors.
