David Hess Turns In Second Straight Five-Run Start Tuesday
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher David Hess got roughed up for the second straight start in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Nationals. The 24-year-old surrendered five runs on five hits (including a solo home run) and three walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Hess has now allowed five runs in each of his last two starts after allowing a combined two runs in his previous three starts. He now has a 2-3 record with a 4.82 ERA, 20 strikeouts, 15 walks and nine home runs allowed in 37 1/3 innings on the season. The low strikeouts and high number of HRs limit Hess' fantasy value, and he should be avoided until he can turn things around.
