David Johnson Splits The Workload In Loss
3 years agoHeading into Week 12, Houston Texans running back David Johnson was expected to be the passing-down back while Rex Burkhead got the majority of the carries. It turns out we will see more of an even split between the two. Johnson saw 10 carries for 39 yards and three targets, which he converted into two catches for 16 yards in the loss to the New York Jets. Burkhead saw near identical numbers, with neither reaching the end zone. The two of them splitting the workload kills any fantasy value either player may have had, and with quarterback Tyrod Taylor the preferred goal-line back, it is highly unlikely Burkhead or Johnson produce a worthwhile fantasy score moving forward.
