David Montgomery Held Out Of Practice Thursday
4 years agoChicago Bears running back David Montgomery (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday ahead of Monday's game versus Minnesota due to his status in the league's concussion protocol. While Montgomery will have the benefit of an additional day between games, if he is ultimately held out, expect the Bears to have to get extremely creative out of the backfield with Cordarelle Patterson, Ryan Nall, and Artavis Pierce, all candidates to see increased reps. Despite his unquestioned role as Chicago's top back, Montgomery has yet to hit the 100-yard rushing plateau this season, and he has just one rushing score to his credit. With the team's recent offensive woes, the Vikings' defense could have some season-long streamer appeal, particularly if Montgomery is unable to clear protocol in time.
