David Peterson Unconcerned With Shoulder Soreness Thursday
4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher David Peterson departed after five innings Thursday against Washington, and though while his 74 pitches didn’t jump off the page as causing his departure, he admitted after the game that he was dealing with “typical” shoulder soreness. Peterson reportedly battled to remain in the game, but with the Mets’ starting staff already ravaged by injuries, manager Luis Rojas was not taking any chances. While the ailment shouldn’t affect Peterson moving forward, he has now capped at 87 pitches in his first four starts, which may limit his ability to go deep in his next handful of appearances.
