4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher David Phelps struck out three over two perfect frames of relief to take the win against the Pirates on Monday. Phelps (1-0) became the first pitcher in 2020 to solve the riddle of the extra-inning rules, as he entered the game in the 10th and shut down the Pittsburgh offense even with a runner on second base to start the inning. After a solid comeback campaign in a 2019 split between the Blue Jays and Cubs, the 33-year-old is on his way to re-establishing himself as a reliable relief arm in 2020.--James Stokke
