6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price struck out 10 batters in just five innings, while allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks in a 4-3, extra-inning victory over Tampa Bay Sunday. The southpaw got touched up for two runs in the third but only allowed two hits after that. The 10 strikeouts are a season-high, despite it being his shortest outing of the season. He didn’t earn the victory, but Price has easily been Boston's best starter, with a 3.75 ERA and a 30:5 K:BB in just 24 innings. It's hard to knock the 33-year-old thus far, but he'll look to maintain his strikeout ratios and work deeper into his next start, again versus the Rays Friday--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
