David Wright Shut Down For Eight Weeks
7 years agoThings just keep getting worse for New York Mets third baseman David Wright (shoulder, back). He’s being shut down from baseball activity for eight weeks due to his ongoing shoulder and lower back issues. This comes after not having appeared in a game since May of 2016. It’s been a very sad few years for Wright, who has seen his career completely derailed by spinal stenosis and neck problems. While Wright has maintained the position that he’ll work his way back, one would have to think this could really be the end of the line for the Mets all-time leader in several hitting categories.
