Davis Mills Has A Chance To Prove He's The Long-Term Answer
2 years agoThe Houston Texans like quarterback Davis Mills and want to give him every chance to prove that he can be their long-term answer at the position. Mills will need to show improvement on deeper throws, but offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton has a chance to improve his own resume by coaching a big year out of Mills. The most likely outcome is that Houston goes after a QB in next year's draft with all the draft capital they have. But Mills was fairly well regarded by teams leading into the 2021 draft, and he could outplay expectations as an unchallenged starter this season. Not many have really given the 23-year-old much of a chance at sticking, but he outperformed expectations in 13 games (11 starts) in his rookie season, throwing for 2,664 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. For fantasy purposes, he should only be rostered in superflex leagues.
