Dee Gordon Has Hits In Seven Of Last Eight Games
6 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon singled and scored in the first inning of the Mariners 9-3 loss to the Angels on Tuesday. Gordon scored on a three-run blast from outfielder Mitch Haniger and now has hits in seven of his last eight games. After suffering a mini-slump, Gordon has bounced back and now is hitting .284 on the season. Gordon has been a positive influence at the top of an improved Mariners lineup this season despite an on-base percentage of .304. This can mostly be attributed to Gordon drawing only six walks all season in 338 at-bats. His 41 runs scored and 22 stolen bases have offset some of those numbers but Gordon's one-dimensional skill-set limits his fantasy potential. He has a positive matchup Wednesday night against Angels expected starter Jaime Barria. Gordon went 3-for-6 against Barria on June 12 and his arrow will be pointing up heading into Wednesday.
