Deebo Samuel Gains 66 Yards, TD, As RB And WR
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel carried the ball eight times for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Niners' 19-10 loss to the Chicago Bears. He added two catches for 14 yards on eight targets. The 26-year-old had to take on a greater role in the backfield after starting RB Elijah Mitchell left the game near halftime with a knee injury. While the inexperience of Trey Lance at quarterback might be hurting Samuel's potential as a receiver, Samuel's skill running the ball will give him opportunities as a wide back, especially while Mitchell misses time. The 49ers' next game against Seattle seems like another chance for Samuel to put up points on the ground and in the air.
