3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel requested to be traded a few weeks ago, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. While it's unknown exactly why the 26-year-old wants out of the Bay Area, Pelissero hinted it might have something to do with his workload. Samuel is reportedly unhappy with his role on offense and is looking to play exclusively as a wide receiver in order to add years to his career, a request Kyle Shanahan may be unwilling to accommodate. Samuel had a monster year in 2021, finishing with 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran the ball 59 times, racking up 365 yards while adding eight more trips to the end zone. Nonetheless, if Samuel isn't keen on playing dual positions, his fantasy attractiveness will suffer, so managers should continue watching this situation as there will surely be more developments heading into the 2022-23 campaign.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
