4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Deivi Garcia allowed four runs over 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts against the Marlins on Saturday, giving him a 4.98 over six starts for the season. Three of the four runs Garcia allowed came in the third inning, when the Marlins strung together three hits on balls with exit velocities below 73 mph, so Garcia’s performance wasn’t quite as bad as the box score may suggest. Saturday’s start wraps up a regular season that saw Garcia strike out at least six batters in five of his six starts, but he’s had a home run problem with six allowed over 34.1 innings. Still, Garcia’s 2020 performance has been encouraging, and fantasy managers should expect the 21-year-old to pitch well in the playoffs as long as he can keep the ball in the park.--Sam Chinitz
