6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields was slotted in the two-hole for manager Chris Woodward on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles. He finished 2-for-5 with a run scored, but he also had three strikeouts. DeShields also had a stolen base, but he was caught stealing, too. He showed some good signs, as his average slowly inched up to .194, but he also showed some of the things which had him optioned to Triple-A Nashville earlier in the season. He and Danny Santana will be jostling for playing time with Joey Gallo on the shelf. DeShields has nice speed potential, but his average has been brutal.--Daniel Dobish
