Delino DeShields Sits Sunday Due To Hip Ailment
4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Delino DeShields is absent from the club’s starting lineup Sunday against Tigers southpaw Tarik Skubal due to the hip tightness that forced him to depart Saturday’s game early. Cleveland is thin in the outfield after having sent Bradley Zimmer down just a day earlier, paving the way for Greg Allen to see the vast majority of playing time in center should DeShields’ ailment keep him out of the mix. DeShields has opened the year 8-for-32 at the dish, but with little power having been displayed during his career, he has little season-long intrigue. His next chance to rejoin the starting lineup comes Monday against Minnesota and right-hander Kenta Maeda, which would make for a tough DFS matchup.
