6 years agoDallas Cowboys defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence is likely to be franchise tagged by the team if the two sides are unable to come up with a long-term deal. The impending free agent recorded 14.5 sacks and forced four fumbles in 2017. After a slow start to his career, Lawrence flourished, grading as Pro Football Focus' third-ranked 4-3 defensive end. If tagged, Lawrence would earn about $17 million in 2018. It remains to be seen if the team will need to use the tag or if the two sides will agree to something longer, but it's almost certain that Lawrence will be back in Dallas next season.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
