4 years agoKnowing the ground game would be his key to victory, Demian Maia attempted just that. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned, as he only landed one of his 21 attempted takedowns on Saturday night. As you would expect, this led to his unanimous-decision loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 263. With the loss, Maia has now lost five of his last eight bouts. At 43 years old with a mixed martial arts career spanning 40 fights and numerous BJJ accolades, one has to wonder how many more times we will see Maia compete in the Octagon.
