Denny Hamlin Ends Up Second At Richmond
3 years agoDenny Hamlin was in the middle of a 1-2-3 Joe Gibbs Racing sweep on Saturday night as the No. 11 led the most laps with 197. The problem was the final laps as Martin Truex Jr.'s car was just faster in that run. It does not take away from a nice two-week run and start to the chase for Hamlin. He had a poor pit stop late and then lap traffic kept him from making up time late. At points, Hamlin was more than 4-5 seconds behind Truex Jr. paced the field then coasted the final laps. That allowed Hamlin to make some time up and have it appear the race was closer than it really was. Either way, a first and second give Hamlin a nice springboard as the chase rolls on.
