3 years agoDenny Hamlin has had an interesting week in Los Angeles. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has kissed a wall or two and only qualified 17th on Saturday. He did look better in practice runs where he raced 102 laps in all. His best lap there was good enough for tenth spot. The faster conditions earlier in the afternoon on Sunday should benefit the No. 11 car. There does seem to be a difference between the evening run and afternoon runs. Hamlin's car did seem more in tune by several mph's. That will be important if Hamlin wants to continue his short-track mastery. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
