7 years agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Deonte Thompson has a slight advantage for one of the final roster spots. The Cowboys are expected to keep just six receivers, with Allen Hurns, Cole Beasley, Tavon Austin, Terrance Williams and rookie Michael Gallup all virtual locks. Thompson will still need a strong finish to training camp, but he's missed most of the last week with a strained Achilles after initially seeing some first-team repetitions in camp. Thompson is battling with receivers Lance Lenoir and Noah Brown. Thompson had 38 catches for 555 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games between the Bears and Bills last season. There is opportunity in Dallas, but there are just too many bodies ahead of him on the depth chart right now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
