Derek Dietrich Goes Deep Twice On Sunday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds utility man Derek Dietrich turned in a big game in his team's 7-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Playing first base in place of Joey Votto, Dietrich went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI. In all, Dietrich is hitting .278 with three homers, five runs, and eight RBI. As the team's utility man, Dietrich isn't going to see regular playing time, although his hot hitting could force manager David Bell to write his name on the lineup card more often going forward. For now, Dietrich is just a fantasy option in deeper NL-only leagues.
