Derek Dietrich Hits 12th Homer
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Derek Dietrich went 2-for-3 with two runs and a solo homer in an 11-9 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday. The homer is Dietrich's 12th of the year, to go along with a .250 average, 1.011 OPS, 18 runs, 27 RBI, and one steal. Dietrich, who signed a minor league contract with the team in February, has been a pleasant surprise for the Reds this season. Scooter Gennett, who has been on the 60-day injured list with a severe groin strain, may struggle to unseat Dietrich when he returns to the field. Dietrich should be owned in all National League-only leagues and in deeper mixed leagues as well.
