6 years agoCincinnati Reds utility man Derek Dietrich (leg) was hit by a pitch on the lower leg or ankle in the bottom of the eighth inning of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals in Monterrey, Mexico, and he was forced to leave the game. Pitcher Tyler Mahle came on to run for Dietrich, who has been phenomenal while giving the team a lift in place of the injured Scooter Gennett. Dietrich was appearing as a pinch-hitter for Jose Iglesias, so he did very little for fantasy owners in the series finale. For now, consider him day-to-day.--Daniel Dobish
