Derek Dietrich Makes An Impact In First Game
6 years agoCincinnati Reds infielder Derek Dietrich wasn't in the initial Opening Day lineup, but he found a way to make an impact in a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dietrich blasted a three-run, pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning to give Cincinnati a 5-3 lead which the team never relinquished. Dietrich signed with the Reds in the offseason after spending the first six years of his career with the Miami Marlins. Dietrich doesn't project to see every day starts for the Reds this season, although he has some pop in his bat and is worth considering as a cheap option in daily fantasy leagues in favorable matchups.
