D'Ernest Johnson Expected To Sign Tender
3 years agoThe deadline for teams to sign Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent running back D'Ernest Johnson to an offer sheet came and went at midnight last Friday, so he'll likely sign his tender to return to Cleveland. "D'Ernest is a good player," general manager Andrew Berry said Friday. "We anticipate him being here. We will deal with that as we get into the weeks after the draft." It's only a matter of time before he officially signs his tender to return to the Browns as backfield depth Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The 26-year-old will make $2.43 million in 2022. Johnson was a nice fantasy plug-and-play last year when both Chubb and Hunt were injured, as he had three games with over 100 scrimmage yards. However, unless more injuries strike Cleveland's backfield, Johnson won't have much fantasy value.
