3 years agoThe deadline for teams to sign Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent running back D'Ernest Johnson to an offer sheet came and went at midnight last Friday, so he'll likely sign his tender to return to Cleveland. "D'Ernest is a good player," general manager Andrew Berry said Friday. "We anticipate him being here. We will deal with that as we get into the weeks after the draft." It's only a matter of time before he officially signs his tender to return to the Browns as backfield depth Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The 26-year-old will make $2.43 million in 2022. Johnson was a nice fantasy plug-and-play last year when both Chubb and Hunt were injured, as he had three games with over 100 scrimmage yards.
