3 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Derrick Gore saw his first extended action of the year in Week 8 and made the most of his opportunity with 11 carries for 48 yards and one touchdown. Jerick McKinnon was expected to be the back up to Darrel Williams, but it was Gore that got the opportunity and made the most of it. Heading into Week 9 versus the Green Bay Packers, Gore should once again be expected to backup Williams. The Packers defense has had a strong season versus the run and are allowing just 77 yards per game on the ground, but have given up seven rushing touchdowns on the year. Williams remains the lead dog in the Chiefs backfield, but Gore is the next man up and should see some opportunities in Week 9. Gore can be considered as a flex option in the deepest of leagues, but there should be other players with more opportunity to help managers in Week 9.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
