Deshaun Watson Could Land On Exempt List
3 years agoA pair of grand juries chose not to criminally charge Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in sexual-assault cases, and the NFL is moving closer to their final decision on what to do with him. The league could suspend him now or wait until his 22 pending civil lawsuits are settled. The NFL could also place him on the commissioner's exempt list (paid leave) until the civil cases are resolved, with an unpaid suspension coming after. Watson's camp is currently fighting all of his cases and trying to win them. But if the NFL decides to suspend him until his legal cases are over, his representatives might alter their plans. In the fantasy world, just because Watson was traded, doesn't mean he won't be hit with a suspension and miss games in 2022, so his fantasy value is still very much up in the air.
