6 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess was given a limited opportunity to showcase his talent in the third week of preseason. Catching two passes for a combined 35 yards, he was limited in coverage against the impressive Stephon Gilmore. Funchess was able to flash as Cam Newton threw a 28-yard pass to him while in tight coverage, showing he is both in sync and a trusted option for his quarterback. Funchess may not be the leading receiver in Carolina if tight end Greg Olsen is included, but, going into the season, it looks as though he is the clear WR1 in this team.--Richard King - RotoBaller
