7 years agoCarolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney made it seem likely that he doesn't plan on giving wide receiver Devin Funchess a contract extension just yet. "You want to see a guy put back-to-back years together," Hurney said. Funchess had his breakout year in his third season, catching 63 passes for 840 yards and eight touchdowns, but quarterback Cam Newton didn't really have anyone else to throw to. With rookie D.J. Moore expected to contribute immediately and tight end Greg Olsen healthy, Funchess isn't likely to have as big a role in 2018.
