6 years agoIt seems like everyone is waiting for New York Mets catcher Devin Mesoraco to stop hitting, but thus far he is refusing to comply. In a 4-3 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves on Monday, Mesoraco finished 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a walk. His long ball was yet another clutch hit, as it gave the Mets a one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning (a lead they would shortly blow a few minutes later). Mesoraco is now up to six home runs on the year and has quickly played himself into fantasy consideration since being traded to the Mets, although he will now be splitting time with catcher Kevin Plawecki, who successfully returned in the nightcap.--John Smith
