Devin Mesoraco Has Gone Ice Cold
6 years agoWhen catcher Devin Mesoraco was acquired by the New York Mets in exchange for pitcher Matt Harvey in early-May, it seemed as though the change of scenery did the 29-year-old a world of good. Mesoraco went deep in three of his first seven games as a Met, showing signs of the awesome player he was back in 2014 before injuries set in. Lately, though, Mesoraco has gone cold. In the month of June, Mesoraco is slashing a poor .150/.227/.150 with no home runs or RBI. He has one run scored to his name this month. It had looked like Mesoraco would be providing surprise value at the catcher position, but as of now he’s sunk back to the depths he was before the trade. He could always emerge from this, of course, but for now he’s best left in your free-agent pool.
