Devin Mesoraco Leaves Game But Passes Concussion Tests
6 years agoNew York Mets catcher Devin Mesoraco left Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays after getting hit by a pitch on the helmet and then again on a backswing from Jays third baseman Yangervis Solarte. While Mesoraco obviously didn’t feel well, the good news here is that he passed a concussion test nonetheless. He’ll continue to be evaluated, and one would have to think he’ll sit out Wednesday’s game. If Mesoraco misses a few games, Kevin Plawecki would get most, if not all, of the starts behind the plate in his stead. Losing Mesoraco’s bat would hurt the Mets offense, but then again they already have possibly the worst offense in the league, so what’s the difference?
