Devin Williams Records Fifth Save
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Devin Williams was asked to take the ball in the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. The right-hander struck out two batters in what was a perfect ninth inning. This save notched Williams' fifth of the season as closer Josh Hader remains on the paternity leave list. The expectation is that Hader will be back after Sunday's contest. Otherwise, Williams could see more saves coming his way, assuming Hader misses more time. This season, Williams has five saves and 15 holds and is one of the best relievers in baseball.
