4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers reliever Devin Williams threw 25 pitches in a live batting practice session Saturday. The reigning NL Rookie of The Year missed Milwaukee's Wild Card series last season due to a shoulder issue. The Brewers are rightfully taking a measured approach with the 26-year-old's throwing program this spring. He told reporters after his bullpen session that he felt good and that he's experienced zero setbacks with his shoulder. Manager Craig Counsell has already stated that Williams would not pitch in the Cactus League until after March 17 but he's trending to make his debut sometime next week. If he's able to pitch next week then he should be ready to go for Opening Day, barring any setbacks. He put up a phenomenal 2020 season when he posted a 0.33 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 53:9 K/BB ratio over 27 innings of work. Even if he's serving as the setup man to closer Josh Hader, Williams makes for a solid addition to any fantasy roster with his potentially elite ratios.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
