7 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (knee) has been impressing the coaching staff and his teammates early in camp and has been taking batting practice and participating in fielding drills daily. “You watch him move around, and if you didn’t know he’d had an injury, you wouldn’t think anything of it,” manager John Gibbons said. “Really, he looks that good.” Travis underwent surgery to fix cartilage in his right knee in June and missed the rest of the season. He started running within the last month and described it as a work in progress. Toronto wants Travis to be cautious with his knee, and he could see more rest days this year with infielders Yangervis Solarte and Aledmys Diaz able to fill in at the keystone. Travis will be eased into spring games and won't play in the first couple of games. He's become an extreme injury risk for fantasy owners, as he's never played in over 101 games in a season and only made it to 50 games in 2017. But when healthy, he has a career slash line of .292/.331/.462, and he could be a sleeper pick late in drafts if he can stay healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
