Devonta Freeman Could Be Ready For OTAs
7 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (knee) said he's doing well after dealing with MCL and PCL injuries at the end of the season. He recently received a second opinion on his knee, and he isn't expected to need surgery before the start of the next season. Freeman thinks there's a chance he'll be ready for the start of the offseason program, too. “But I’m going to take my time and let it heal so I won’t have to deal with little knicks and knacks throughout the season, because that’s the most important time for me. So I’m going to take my time and let it heal, get stronger. I need to be free when I’m out there," Freeman said. Expect the Falcons to play it cautious with their starting running back during organized team activities. Barring any setbacks, Freeman should once again be an RB1 in 2018, even with Tevin Coleman splitting repetitions.
