DeVonta Smith - Week 1 Outlook for Fantasy Football

2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith starts the regular season with a great fantasy matchup on the road against the Detroit Lions. No longer having to deal with top coverage from opposing defenses due to the offseason addition of A.J. Brown, the sophomore receiver will have a chance to use his 4.27 speed against No. 2 cornerbacks. Detroit's secondary is not one to shy away from for fantasy purposes. The Lions allowed 22.7 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position in 2021 and 13.1 yards per reception. Smith has the skill set to capitalize for fantasy managers in a plus matchup with a low reception total, making him a great flex option to open the regular season.--Ryan Larrison - RotoBaller
