Diamondbacks Exercise Torey Lovullo's 2023 Option

2 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks exercised manager Torey Lovullo's option for the 2023 season on Tuesday, according to the team. Lovullo was hired as the skipper after the 2016 season, and he led the team to a 93-69 record and the top National League Wild-Card spot in his first year. They were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Division Series in the postseason. Arizona was a surprise wild-card contender in 2019 and won 85 games. They've struggled the last two years and finished 52-110 last year, one loss shy of the club record. The D-backs entered Tuesday's action with a 60-67 record in third place in the National League West at 29 1/3 games behind the division-leading Dodgers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
