Didi Gregorius Expected In Camp On Friday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius is expected to report to camp on Friday, according to Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Gregorius has been out due to visa issues, but manager Joe Girardi said this shouldn't affect his ability to be ready for the season. Gregorius had a solid first year in Philadelphia slashing .284/.339/.488 with 10 home runs playing all 60 games of the shortened campaign. Gregorius doesn't make great contact, but a 14.1% strikeout rate should help him hit for a high average again while putting up respectable power numbers in hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park. Gregorius should be drafted in all leagues that utilize a middle infield spot and is a quality starter at shortstop in deeper leagues.
