Didi Gregorius Returns To Phillies
4 years agoFree-agent shortstop Didi Gregorius has reached a two-year agreement worth $28 million with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to reports on Saturday. Gregorius will now return to the Phillies, where he posted a .284/.339/.488 slash line to go with 10 home runs and 40 RBI in 237 plate appearances in 2020, his first season in Philadelphia. His 2020 campaign was a nice rebound after a rough 2019 with the Yankees when he was coming off of Tommy John surgery. Now healthy, the 31-year-old shortstop returns to a potent lineup in a great hitter's park. He should put up similar numbers to his 2020 totals, extrapolated over the course of a full season. At a very deep position, Gregorius projects as a capable starting shortstop in deeper leagues or a solid backup in the majority of shallow formats. Managers selecting Gregorius around his 167 ADP can expect a .280 average to go with 20 home runs and 80-90 RBI for 2021, if he's healthy.
