2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers designated right-hander Dinelson Lamet and catcher Pedro Severino for assignment on Wednesday. Lamet was just acquired by the Brewers in the trade that sent left-handed closer Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres on Monday. Milwaukee likes Lamet, but their bullpen is extremely crowded at the major league level, even after trading Hader away. The Brew Crew also traded for veteran relievers Matt Bush and Trevor Rosenthal in recent days. If Lamet goes unclaimed on waivers, the Brewers will be able to keep him in the organization at Triple-A Nashville. Moved to the bullpen because of injuries by the Padres the last two years, Lamet allowed 13 earned runs on 16 hits in just 12 1/3 relief innings for the Friars this year before being traded to Milwaukee.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
