3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Dinelson Lamet surrendered four earned runs in five-plus innings Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander was cruising through five frames before attempting to pitch into the sixth for the first time this season, promptly yielding three knocks before being pulled and watching the bullpen complete the late collapse. Overall, Lamet allowed four hits and a walk while striking out six. After dealing with a balky elbow this offseason, Tuesday was Lamet's longest outing as he gradually resumes a normal starter's workload. The 28-year-old owns a 3.52 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 27 percent strikeout rate across 23 innings. While his wipeout slider remains effective, Lamet's fastball has not reached the efficiency of prior years, resulting in a sky-high hard-hit rate of 46 percent. He'll be a risky SP4 next week at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
