Dinelson Lamet Falters After Carrying No-No Into Sixth
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Dinelson Lamet surrendered two runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lamet carried a no-hitter with just one free pass through 17 outs before unraveling and being yanked after yielding a walk, two hits and two runs in succession. He settled for a no-decision after fanning two. The 28-year-old has pitched well in three starts, boasting a 1.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 9.8 K/9. His advanced stats support the strong performance, but he continues to walk the yard with a 4.0 BB/9 and hasn’t finished six frames. If Lamet stays on schedule, he’ll rematch against the Dodgers next Monday at Chavez Ravine and should be viewed as a high-end SP4.
