4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet (forearm) is likely headed to the 10-day injured list, though the team has no current plans for an MRI. Lamet made his anticipated return to the mound on Wednesday but had to leave the game after throwing just 29 pitches, as he experienced right forearm tightness. The Padres feel confident that there is no structural damage to Lamet's arm or elbow- so they'll see how he feels on Thursday before making a decision. Even if he avoids serious injury, it's discouraging to see him banged up after only just making his return. It will be interesting to see if San Diego opts to give top pitching prospect MacKenzie Gore a spot start.--Tim Capurso
