Dinelson Lamet Snags Win In Relief Appearance
4 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher Dinelson Lamet earned a victory in two innings of relief work Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Spelling starter Ryan Weathers after four frames, the 28-year-old evaded two hits and two walks to allow one run while striking out two in his first career stint from the bullpen. Lamet has now made four appearances (three starts) in 2021, going exactly two innings per outing as the Friars continue to be uber cautious with the right-hander as he builds up from a balky elbow. He holds a 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 7.9 K/9. It's undetermined when Lamet will be given a full workload so frustrated fantasy managers need to remain patient. He's not a must-hold in shallower formats but projects to take the bump again this weekend against the Seattle Mariners.
