Dinelson Lamet Won't Be Coddled In 2020
5 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Dinelson Lamet should have no workload limitations this season. The 27-year-old former prospect underwent Tommy John surgery in 2018 and returned last year to toss 73 frames across 14 starts. After shaking the rust, Lamet closed the season strong, posting a 3.60 ERA and electric 13.5 K/9 in his final nine starts. A lock for the Friars rotation, general manager A.J. Preller firmly believes Lamet has the capacity to surpass 150 innings in 2020. A two-pitch whiff guru with a career 31 percent strikeout rate, Lamet has an opportunity to break out if he stays healthy and further develops his repertoire. With a current ADP of 125, Lamet is a reasonable investment as an SP3/4.
